The Last Post

Here. For now. I've set up a new email account and rather than try and go through this Google sites ridiculous settings to try and figure out how to transfer control of this page over to my new email, I'm just going to start over. I'll make the first post on the new Song of The Day blog a link to this old page, and probably include the link in a couple posts after that. Most likely until I get everything transferred over to my new email address. So you want some songs? Here's a little farewell playlist that will be entirely off the top of my head (which means it'll pretty much be the last ten songs I listened to before coming to the library.)
Ridiculous by Bowling For Soup
Paralyzed by The Used
Dark Blue by Jack's Mannequin
Devils Dance Floor by Flogging Molly
Two Weeks by All That Remains
Bleed It Out by Linkin Park

See you soon! Hopefully.

Still Alive

So I recently beat Portal 2, without ever having played the first one (*gasp!* it's so horrible!). I was, however, introduced to the ending song from Portal, Still Alive, back in freshman year; Instant addiction.
I was slightly more disappointed with Portal 2's ending song, Want You Gone. It just didn't have the feel to it, y'know? Anyway, onto the body of the post!
The Song of The day is Still Alive by Jonathan Coultman, written for the video game Portal. Here's the most kickass kinetic typography video you'll ever watch in your sad, pathetic lifetimes.

What's your song of the day? Played any good games lately?

These Days

Okay, so I recently bought the game Rock Band Blitz on PSN, and it's the best Rock Band game ever, I don't care about your opinion on this because you're wrong.
Now, to the point. On this game is one of my favorite Foo Fighters songs, and I know a lot of people didn't like the Wasting Light album, but a lot of people are dumbasses. The song is These Days, and it is the Song of The Day (Formal form of that announcement; The Song of The Day is These Days by Foo Fighters)
This is the song that pops into my head whenever somebody, well not just any somebody only specific somebodies, tells me "it's going to be okay."
"Easy for you to say
Your heart has never been broken
Your pride has never been stolen
Not yet
Not yet"
Those lines in specific. Because you don't know, so stop telling me that it's going to be okay. Unless you are several years my elder in experience and age, YOU KNOW NOTHING!
So what's your SOTD?

Happy Birthday To Me!

So yeah, I turned 18 yesterday. Now I'm really fucked. Got papers telling me that if there's ever a draft I have to comply, even if I leave the country. First response was "fuck that" and I nearly reached for a lighter until I was reminded that I'm already in trouble and the federal government calls any independent person a traitor (despite that they're taking all our money and giving it away to countries that don't need any American assistance). So I have to keep the stupid papers.
On the upside I got a new ps3.

Valentine's Playlist 2013

So as you all know, yesterday was the entirely commercialized Saint Valentine's Day! Hooray for plastic foil and chocolate! Well, I didn't have the opportunity to share my SOTD or holiday playlist with you all! So here it is! Yesterday's Song of The Day was I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz.  Now for the Holiday Playlist! It's either shorter or longer than usual, I'll let you decide.

1. Yellow by Alex Parks
A song about a color! No. The Color Yellow is just there. Everywhere. Listen to it.

2. Gang Of Rhythm by Walk Off The Earth
"I got this old guitar, the strings are rusty but it's all I need" Here's to the broken-hearted musicians reading this. At least you got a song out of it right?

3. Last Train Home by Lostprophets
For every broken heart in general.

4. Have Faith In Me by A Day To Remember
For the ones that are always there for eachother, and the ones working on getting back to eachother.

5. Heels Over Head by Boys Like Girls
I actually don't remember why that one is on here. I can't even remember the lyrics. Strange...

6. You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi]
Who hates their ex? Show of hands? Now who raised their hand at the computer screen?

7. Bruised by Jack's Mannequin
If you take one thing away from this song, it should be that this should never happen to you.

So that's it for this Holiday! Just wait for Saint Patrick's Day!
What was your Valentine Song?

Stupid battery

So as I might have mentioned before, I'm using an older MP3. One that doesn't recognize any charger not made by the company that made the device. WHICH IS STUPID in terms of consumer convenience, but genius for the company because I'll bet they make the chargers so they only last a week or something so anybody dumb enough to buy one in the first place has to go back and buy more.
Anyway, I just use a USB cable and charge it from the desktop at home. That doesn't work at the library.
SUPER LAME
So no song for today.

Honestly

So that band that did the song This Should Have Been A Love Song? Well I finally got in contact with them, which was a lot easier than getting in contact with the chick that showed me their music in the first place. Anyway, look them up on soundcloud or something, it's Lost Without Lacie. So their song Honestly has absolutely NOTHING to do with my day or week or feelings as far as I know. (I didn't really listen through the whole song, but don't tell them that it might hurt their feelings.)
So yeah, the Song of The Day is Honestly by Lost Without Lacie. What's your song of the day?

Honor For All

So as I mentioned a month or so ago, I got the game Dishonored for Christmas. I beat it (with high chaos, meaning I didn't do stealth very well.) within days of getting it. I LOVE this games soundtrack. The background music, the combat music, even the voice acting, but my absolute favorite song from the game is the song played at the ending credits. Honor for All by Jon and Daniel Licht. You may recognize the second name from other game soundtracks (ex. Silent Hill Book of Memories).
not the song of the day, maybe, just thought I'd share.
