Smile

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROCKET!!!! I know you won't be reading this but fuck it I'm writing this to you anyway. Well, in a way don't I kinda write all of them to you sorta? No? Whatever.
The Song of The Day is Smile by Unkle Kracker, and yes it's a country song. BE SURPRISED!!! So yeah, happy birthday love <3 Sorry I'm not there, but some prick judge decided that it's a good idea to separate two people who left to be together, not like that's a reason to try again or anything. (I take a small bit of pleasure in knowing that this all goes back to the judge. Just a small bit though, because there's a chance this may come back to bite me in the ass, and that never feels good.)
Anyway, despite how sappy this is gonna sound; This song always makes me think of you. No matter how low I get, some song like this comes on and thoughts of us come back and I'm smiling again. So here's the lyrics, be embarrassed that all of my 23 readers, most of which live in Iceland (do they speak English in Iceland or am I going to have to start writing these in another damn language? Just asking.) will know that this one's for you Rocket. Happy Birthday love

You're better then the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler then the flip side of my pillow, that's right
Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me,
Lets me know that it's ok, yeah it's ok
And the moments where my good times start to fade

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile

Even when you're gone
Somehow you come along
Just like a flower poking through sidewalk crack and just like that
You steal away the rain and just like that
You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile

Don't know how I lived without you
Cuz everytime that I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile

What the fuck happened to my font? seriously.

Find Out Who Your Friends Are

I don't do a lot of country on here. But this one fits my mood as of lately. Being forced to move sucks. As any military child will tell you (or anybody who's ever been evicted). But I think it's when you're moving that you find out who your friends are, so that's the song of the day. Find Out Who Your Friends Are by Tracey Lawrence. I don't think I've ever heard any other song by this guy, but that doesn't matter. A bunch of my friends stopped talking to me when they found out I was moving. Even back when school was still in (in the last few weeks that is), as soon as they found out, I was back to where I was 4 years ago (minus the anger problems and paranoia.). But hey, some of you can relate huh?
Readers, what's your song of the day?

Let There Be Rock

In the beginning
Back in nineteen fifty five
Man didn't know 'bout a rock 'n' roll show
'N all that jive
The white man had the schmaltz
The black man had the blues
No one knew what they was gonna do
But Tschaikovsky had the news, he said

Let there be light, and there was light
Let there be sound, and there was sound
Let there be drums, there was drums
Let there be guitar, there was guitar, ah
Let there be rock

And it came to pass
That rock 'n' roll was born
All across the land every rockin' band
Was blowin' up a storm
And the guitar man got famous
The business man got rich
And in every bar there was a superstar
With a seven year itch
There was fifteen million fingers
Learnin' how to play
And you could hear the fingers pickin'
And this is what they had to say

Let there be light, sound, drums, 'n guitar, ah
Let there be rock

One night in a club called the Shakin' Hand
There was a 42 decibel rockin' band
And the music was good
And the music was loud
And the singer turned and he said to the crowd

Let there be rock

A friend and I were discussing the evolution of music. what we came up with was this. It all came from the Blues. From the blues came Country and Rock. The only two that seemed to branch out and continue to live. Rock grew into many subgenres and stuck it's metaphorical roots into every possible industry and type of music we have today. Country just sat there. Not changing that much. Getting louder and more drunk. Let me go off on why Rock is superior for a second. What are all country songs about? If sang by a guy, it's about beer, chicks, God, or their family. If it's sang by a chick, it's about a guy. And what has country music given the nonreligious people or those that don't drink or don't have a relationship? Headaches from shitty music. So I say, Let There Be Rock. Because rock music has evolved, has progressed. From all around the world people have listened and translated and bettered the music. Go anywhere in the world and all the country music will sound the same. Some foreign shit came on and sounded almost exactly like a Toby Keith song (with the exception of the language barrier). But go somewhere else in the world and they'll have their own kind of Rock music not overly similar to what you listen to but just enough to be in the same genre. Example, why is it called Norwegian Black Metal? Because it's from Norway and it doesn't sound like American Black Metal. We have more of a selection in Rock than you do in Country. "Oh well Johnny Cash..." Johnny Cash was considered Rock music in his time. Another testament to our evolution through the years. I almost attacked my best friend for calling the Eagles Country music. Somebody tried bringing up the Beatles. Apparently they were rock too. But their music was shitty and insulted the genre. It's like Seperating Sci-fi from Horror. Eventually though, it all comes together. A Country Rocker. Now I don't know what you think about him, but the only station I ever hear Kid Rock's music on is a country station. Which disappoints me. I feel he has more of a rough Rock sound than country but that's just my opinion. So yeah. Song of The Day is Let There Be Rock by AC/DC. Can't believe this is the first AC/DC song on here. WOW.
Readers, what's your song of the day?

Kick My Ass

My Stepfather get's back from military deployment tomorrow, oh joy. The song of the day is in preparation for tomorrow, Kick My Ass by Big&Rich. This was the ringtone for his number on my first cell phone, so I thought it would be fitting for the song of the day right before he get's back to be this. And everybody does seem to want to kick my ass. Most for reasons that don't even make sense. The ending of it doesn't even make sense. After the main song, it goes into this weird half spanish half english rap. Two things that should never be combined are rap and country. It's like mixing oil and water, just take a match to it, seriously. So readers, what's your song of the day?
